We can confirm from the 2016 SHOT Show that HS Precision will not produce a 17WSM rifle. We were told that the cost to develop a new repeater HS Precision rifle around the 17WSM cartridge, would be too high. They also feel that a single-shot would not be something they want to offer. This is the first announced rifle for the 17WSM that will not make it to market. The market share of a HS Precision rifle would have been small to begin with, so after the release of the Ruger 77/17, we felt that they had no other choice but to produce a repeater. Sadly, for HS Precision, the cost was too prohibitive.
