Some Tips from our Readers:
"With the advent of the plastic fantastic stocks on a lot of guns these days I have had a hard time holding onto the rifle when my hands get sweaty , specifically trying to pull the rifle into my shoulder as my hands tend to slip on the plastic stocks . I went and bought a chunk of skateboard grip tape and applied a little to the fore-end and some behind the trigger guard where I grip it with my strong-hand , voila !! No more slipping at an inopportune moment while sighting in on some violent predatory gopher . For just 6 bucks I bought enough to treat every gun I will ever own for the rest of my life so give it a whirl and see what you think." - Michael Neff
"I carry a camo backpack with me which has extra pair of dry socks, first aid kit, rope, wire, cleaning kit, etc. Nothing like remembering you left something home when your out in the bush! All the calls go in it too. That way one call isn't in this vest or that coat. Everything for hunting Coyotes is in that bag. It also doubles as a sand bag when I'm laying down in open areas." - Ed Crane
"POOR MAN'S SUNSHADE - Empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls make a great sunshade for the occasional varmint hunter or for scopes that aren't threaded to accept store-bought ones. If your objective bell diameter is a little large just put a slit in the roll and secure with masking tape." - Duncan McNeill
"Before you go hunting open the bolt and make sure there is not anything in it. Blow on the barrel to make sure their is not any thing in it.Then put a little tape on the barrow so it won't get plugged with snow or mud." - Tyler Deffinbaugh
"Placing a white chicken feather tied with fishing line on a limb or fence, will give predators something to look at, instead of fixing on the callers location. It's cheap and easy to replace if a hawk carry's it off." - Thomas Cash
"When hunting coyotes, I always carry a roll of trash bags and some Raid Flea Spray. After I get the coyote(s) back to the truck, I put them in a trash bag and then spray them real good and tie the bag shut, then I use another bag over that one to lower the risk of toe nails ripping the bags." - Robert Cobb
"Try suspending an old deboned coyote tail from your rifles sling swivel. With the tail hanging down in a natural position, the coyote sees the tail as you move into shooting position. It's been my experience the coyote "locks up" giving you more time to make a clean kill. " - Dale Scott
