I know Varmint Al has some on his site. However, be very careful about sharing sounds. Not only are they copyrighted (making sharing illegal), but it also hurts our hunting community if someone purchases sounds from one source, then shares them with others.

Check out varmintal.com.

Not only are these calls free but Ernie Wilson encourages everybody that visits his site to download them & start calling critters in with them. He wants people to use them. HTH

I know it can be done with an MP3 with the same hook-ups. The prices are getting pretty low if your not above shopping at Wally World. It may be better, you could program quite a few sounds on one, about 2-3 times that of a CD. If you get the right one they take small memory cards. This could be cool. Use a diffrent card for each critter ya want to call in. Cats, Fox, Coyotes....
My friend was the first to tell me about this set-up. I recently saw pictures on E-bay. They had the whole set-up put in a cup of some sort. just try looking up Wildlife callers or something like that and it should pop up. The one I saw even had remote that worked up to 70 yards. It all looked like stuff you could get at Radio Shack. The package had a resemlence to some of the earlier Fox Pros blink.gif I guess they could be close, If you build one and they are I dont even want to know after spending that much for the FX3.
Just joking, I am eager to see how it will come out!!! cool.gif

Somebody that hung out here a while back was making homemade E callers. There were several threads on it and he had the same design...in a huge thermo mug. Looked like it would work very well although you'd have to know more about electronic stuff than I do.

Maybe Glen can recall who it was and we could search that way?

A couple months ago I saw an MP3 player at Wal-Mart that was shaped like a cube. It was less than two inches square. I don’t remember the manufacturer, but that’s the smallest player I’ve seen. A tiny unit like that would give you more room for batteries.
