Has anyone shot or read anything on the little Rossi single shot .223, it sells for around 299.99 at Dick's Sporting Goods with a Simmons scope?

i saw one for $165 @ walmart (minus cheapo scope)

never heard a word about them, though, but my guess would be 1.5" @ 100 which could be good enough for a pickup gun, crappy trigger, a rough surface that will rust easily if allowed to

I prefer NEF's. They're American made, and they shoot pretty straight. I have a .223, .243, and a 17 HMR. I've killed a lot of PD's with the HMR and .223, and even a few with the .243. I haven't used the latter much yet, but I wouldn't hesitate to.

You can pick one up for about $200. The .17's are going vor about $130. Here they are:

try the rossi if you want. it's so cheap that you could get rid of it quick without losing much change if it didn't do what you needed out of it

Misinterpritation. I just read I saw one For---- etc.

The few NEF's Ive seen shot and been around were accurate. I'm with Nuttinbutchunks on the Nef for your price range or the break open single shot anyway.

NEF / H&R is a decent gun for $200, that's what I'd get.

I bought one from Academy with BSA scope and it is up for sale now for $125.00. I am selling it because I want another .223. Not even 20 rounds down the tube and a good shooter. This Rossi is chamber in .223 if you are interesed and it is brand new I still have the case that it came with and the box that it all came in. LMK

flatlander I did not have time to punch any paper with it. I sold the rifle this weekend. Found something at a local gunshop so I did a trade in on a Savage model 12.
