Nice job. A trouble maker never to make trouble again.

.204 w/ 39gr Blitz King over Alliant 10x. I no longer load these but have a number of them left over from when I did. They're smokin fast but are temp. sensitive. I've never have any trouble shooting them at coyotes but had problems when volume shooting in real hot weather.

Walking to the set at first light deer were running all over in a light rain. Must have seen 10 or so. Every one made me react thinking I'd spooked a coyote. I get to my stand and realize I need to do some minor pruning because it's grown over since I was there months ago. I put my stuff down and look up, there's the Mrs. casually walking by at 280. Cranked the scope up to 12 grabbed the shooting sticks and put her down. Then I began calling asap. I had two more answer with howls close by just beyond where she lay but would never show themselves. I waited and waited. The corn is still in at that area. It'll be better visibility once it's out of that field.

Went to a second farm and called 3 deer right off with a Jackrabbit Cry. It must sound similar to a fawn. No coyotes seen there.

Perfect AAR red. The 204 laser stick strikes again. Interesting on them deer responding to the jackrabbit.

yeah as much as I love hunting with the 22Hornet, a once in a while scenario like this is why I seldom take it. If I'd have had the Hornet I seriously doubt I make that shot.

Man it's just like it was when it was applied in 2005 I think it was. It must be indestructible because I sure haven't babied it. Once per year I wipe the mud off it whether it needs it or not.

Someday you're gonna wake a sleeping dog wiping something that don't need any wiping yet.

^^^

What coating is that and where was it done? I think I have a candidate for that treatment.

I remember when you had it done everyone thought you would lay it down somewhere and lose it.

whew, it's been so long ago. Give me time to try to remember or look into it.

I'll say this. It's more durable than the factory camo coating my Browning A-5 has on it.
