Good thought Rudy. I tried that one time in my Tacoma though, without the wood. I just could not get comfortable. The grooves in my tailgate or the slight uprise of it made it uncomfortable. I always found the ground a stable platform. Tony keeps his pasture mowed to a level where that veggy doesn't cause a problem.

Sean.... If I remember correctly you were writing up a review on several WSM's, including your Franklin..? That would be a nice read.

I was waiting to complete a custom single shot Martini Cadet but have not been able to get it to ignite. The WSM needs a really heavy firing pin strike which caused a trigger pull that just would not work. I will get started on the project soon, just finishing handling my Mothers estate. Just too much happening at this time but I will do the write up.

Thanks for noticing me

Sean

Hi Sean,

My mother just past away and we are very involved in managing the closing out of the estate trust. It is very complicated. Best Wishes, David

I bought the New Ruger 77/17 18.5" Green laminate Bull Barrel today. I think I got a pretty decent black Friday deal $749.99 out the door.

Like to see a picture of that and also looking forward to hearing your impressions and results with it.

My picture files are to big and I'm not sure what to do about that.

Here I think the Burris scopes matches pretty good. Sucks that its only 3x9. I would prefer a 3x15 or so.... I probably will end up getting a 3x15x 50 Burris veracity...

Looking very nice. Did they lighten up on the trigger pull from the originals?

Didn't realize this thread was from a couple years ago. Saw the part that claimed Ruger was going to discontinue rotary magazine M77 rifles and -->

So I guess that never happened?

Trigger is pretty typical Ruger. It could use a little work. Fortunately I have  a most excellent gun smith local to me. He went to this big gunsmith school in Colorado and really really knows his stuff. So I will probably have him work on the trigger.
