I guess the rifles are ok but that bolt handle sure looks like _ _ _ _ no matter how many times I see it. Sorry just my opinion.

Yeah on ugly bolt handle, uglier than most blind dates.

I spoke about this about a week ago when it was released and got to shoot it while at the SHOT Show this past week (click here for my Media Range Day Report).  Although many of you feel the bolt handle is ugly, in my opinion it is actually an improvement on the round one they have now.  The one they have now will sometimes contact your scope when releasing the bolt.  Because it is cock-on-close, the bolt flies up pretty quickly when releasing it after firing a shot, sometimes striking the rear bell of the scope.  The new flat one will avoid that and make it easier to close when needed.

Other than that, it is almost an exact replica of my current Stainless B.MAG that I put in a Boyds stock.

I think the whole thing is butt ugly. Wouldn't give 38 cents for a whole box car load of them.

I have a Savage 93F and it also is butt ugly but a new rifle that cost me less than $200.00 what can I expect..

:) Good one, Al!  You are most fortune.

My wife finds me handsome and useful, but she needs new glasses.

I don't care how ugly a gun is as long as it shoots good.

I am not dressing up my first generation pencil barreled BMAG, is light to carry and does a decent group. The dead squirrels I have piled up this season didn't notice the looks.

I did invest a lot of dinero in my first generation Savage 93 HMR, both for function and looks. I could not sell it for what I have invested, but it won't ever be for sale by me.  I traded knife work for two custom fancy curly grain cherry wood lefty Monte Carlo thumbhole stocks, one with high gloss finish range show&tell and another just like it with oil finish for hunting. The quirk is, the stocks fit a right hand rifle and an inch longer in length of the original wood factory stock.

The custom maker actually made 3 like stocks of the same plank, two for me and one for my brother. He shoots lefty also, as does our other brother.

I think the BMAG Target looks to be a good rifle, to stay with this thread content.

Now Savage has a B Mag Target model that looks like a prairie dog shooting rifle.   I wonder if it will be accurate so that it will hit little prairie dog pups at 250 yards. Should Winchester ,Hornady, or Federal  ammo shoot 3/4 inch five shot 100 yard groups the rifle - ammo will be a winner...
