What gives? I am in the process of getting my reloading bench back up and running, and come to find out...there's no rifle powder anywhere, and apparently hasn't been much for quite some time.

Looking for 8 lb. keg of Hodgen Varget, IMR 4064, IMR 4895, or even settle for IMR 3031.

I checked MidwayUSA reloading online and they have 8 pounders of Alliant Pro Varmint. Never used it before. Has anyone out there tried it?

Is IMR still in business?  Just wondering what's going on.

There's been a shortage of all components, just like loaded ammunition, for a couple years. What's going on has been debated for about as long as the shortage.

Never used Pro Varmint. IMR is still in business.

It is starting to surface some, but lots of shooters/hoarders here. Still no rimfire ammo in these parts and not a lot but some powder, lots of primers though.

Jerry's doesn't ship powder. Thanks.  Talked to him on the phone though, nice guy. Really cool looking reloading store if you're near Oklahoma.

They ship everything else though  (Non-Hazmat stuff).

I ended up ordering the Alliant Pro Varmint 8lb from Midway.

According to all the stores, and distributors I've talked to, Hodgden should start freeing up around March/April.

Thanks guys.

I called Cabelas and Wholesale Sports up here today looking for  RL17 and RL19 and Cabelas had non and won't be getting any and WSS said it will be about 2 years before it shows up  on their shelves.

I wish I could order from the USA but I don't think I can get powder shipped across the border anymore.

leadslinger-- Check out the Guns,Loads Forum. If you don't find what you're looking for just ask. We have some purdy knowledgeable reloaders here!!

The RCBS Rockchucker Supreme kit will more than likely be the suggested way to get started. You still need a few hand tools & the manual will cover all of that for you.

Another way is to look for used equipment on CL or the auction sites & hope you get a good deal on good pieces.

Google reloading kits & see what all comes up. There will be a variety to choose from.

I've been trying to buy a pound of Alliant 2400 locally for at least 6 months. None around.
