yeah well. I can't justify spending money on factory loaded centerfire when I can make them myself. But for a rimfire that I probably wouldn't shoot that often...eh I've wasted more money than that in my life and gotten less. 22M runs $10 - $14 per 50 so an extra few bucks isn't a deal breaker.

Why are they calling it the "B.Mag" ? And why is Savage keeping this such a secret ? I can't find any info on their website about it.

I have not been able to find out much either Red. I sure want to shoot one, the 17 Hornet, is doing fantastic. It would be nice to have a super fast rimfire just to say I have one.

Here are a couple of pages from Savage's 2013 catalog (attached in a .pdf).

With regards to the name. I really don't know why they call it the B.MAG. I didn't think to ask! :(

I've been in contact with them and the Savage rep is still saying 2nd quarter release. My article on the B.MAG has about as much information as I could get, but it covered most of the basic information.

Maybe.

Any word on what other mfg's intend to offer one? CZ, Marlin, Ruger? just curious.

Savage having the screw on barrel similar to their CF rifles has me intrigued. Might there be other cartridges available in the future to be used on the same action.

Butt ugly in my opinion. C'mon CZ, step up and make one in nicely texured walnut. :crazycamo:

Savage has a few good points too though.

1) they'll be the first one on the shelves
2) looks like the price will be very fair
3) their long reputation for accuracy

you know I like the CZ's. If they do offer one I'll bet they'll be pushing $500. Not sure I could personally justify it for an occasional use rifle.

I'd pay extra for the wood and the looks :tonguecamo: I would wager the price would be just under $400 bucks.

The CZ .22 Ultra Lux and trainers are still going for around $359 I believe (when you can find them). I'm kind of using that as a benchmark. But who knows with a new caliber and all. But I would think they have to stay somewhere in line with the Savage price. I will pay the extra for some nice looking wood, I know that....but not that low wall price
