Dong,

Yes to the bushing.

They do good work.

Eddie Fosnaugh bushed it for me. Gre-Tan (Greg Tannel) just supplied the FP Assmbly that I installed myself. Eddie gets pretty much all of my work now...he's in-state, but 400 miles away. It works for us though. Kampfeld has done a bit of bolt fluting for me. He did my last 7-08 (semi- custom) Ti fluting.

Fosnaugh sounds familiar.  I'm not sure if I've had him do some work or not though.

I've never used Kampfeld but he seems to keep busy.

I think that makes three votes for the LVSF's in .17 Rem.  Grin.

Catman,

Is your 461 factory?  Or did you have it re-tubed?

I have fewer rifles than most of you fellas. My favorite rifle is my first generation BMAG and it serves me well.

new to varmint hunting, what got me interested was the 17 hornet. Savage 25(i know, not popular) w/ Thumbhole stock and Burris Veracity 4-20x50 shooting factory Hornady 20gr Vmax (for now). aimed at the head thinking it would drop to the body....324yard headshot

 17hornet324himed.jpg

Built a custom AR (VarmintAR) with a 20" shilen 223 wylde barrel, adam arms piston conversion, shooting fire formed hornady brass and 53gr vmax with either CFE223 or H322. Leupold vx-2 6-18x?40

varmintAR370_2.jpg

took a rascally rabbit at 370 yards.... thought it was a PD. had its ears down and was in an area i had been "trying" to get PD's

first time with both guns out but the 17 Hornet has to be my favorite. but the AR was fun to build, load for and shoot as well

All this talk gets me excited. Just found a Sako L461 in 222 Mag and made a great deal on it. It goes well with the 461 in 222. I'm looking to feed the 222 Mag but have had little success but we'll get there.

Nice bunny daSmith. lol

This year its the B.Mag 17WSM even though its only been fired 4 times at critters one of which was a crow on the wing I missed, no surprise but they really change their flight path when a bullet snaps past. Got this non-airborne crow with a 20grn @ 44yds while it was chewing on a red squirrel that was scolding me.

Exit was as large as it looks.

My Ruger #1s in 6mm Remington.   At 400 yards the 87 gr. Hornady and at 1000 yards the 105 gr Hornady.  Both do around half to three quarters m.o.a. at those distances.
