Thought Id post a topic to see what everyones favorite varmint hunting rifle is. Mine is the stevens 22-250 with a 50 grain remington UMC hollowpoint. The bullet shoots exactly the same everytime and Ive never had a miss yet, knock on wood.

for me, my favorite rifle to look at is my stevens 200 in .223 and that's only because of my paintjob that made the stock look less ugly. but my favorite to shoot is my Marlin 981T .22, partly because it's cheaper and partly because i can hit smaller targets with it. biggrincamo.gif this one is ugly though...

Slow down: A fast miss is still a miss and a hit is forever.

Mine would have to be my Browning Micro Hunter A Bolt II in 22 Hornet. I own various varmint and predator rifles including Coopers, Brownings, Remingtons in 22-250, 243, 223, 204, 17 Fireball, 17 Ackley Hornet. But my first love in rifles is that Browning Micro Hunter 22 Hornet. WHY, because it makes me look good when I shoot it.

It's a toss-up between my old Marlin 17V HMR, and the CZ .221 Fireball. Neither kick at all, neither are hard to shoot, and both are "lucky" rifles, I see a lot of killable stuff whenever I have them handy biggrincamo.gif , which is probably why I think so highly of them. That last thing is important. freakedcamo.gif

I have a CZ .204, too, that is either unlucky, or I just haven't carried it around enough. I'll fix that as soon as possible, it's too nice to ignore any longer.

I also have three Savages with heavy barrels, a .204 and two .223s, which are nice enough, and the .204 Savage is pretty "lucky", but not like the two lightweights above. They are just a hoot to have around.

My Remington 700 in 223 Ackley Improved is on its second barrel. 50 gr, Blitz Kings and VihtaVuori N 135 turnout 3512 FPS. Pdogs just come un-glued and coyotes go head over heels for it.
