I alway's considered the Banner scope to be on the low end for good optic's. It will take a good pop. I rated them more of a shotgun or ml. scope. With your spec's ,tell's me your goin hp. What are you hangin it on?

I have a Bushnell Banner 3-9 on my 50cal ML. It's held zero for 7 years now. It's plenty clear for deer hunting out to 250yds. After that it gets a little tough to find the groundhog in it. biggrincamo.gif

IMHO, the Bushell "Banner" line is the best of the lower priced optics. It may actually last you a long time, unlike most of its competitors! Certainly should last long enough to allow you save ennough dimes for a better scope, such as their "Elite" line.

I'm not experienced with the high end scopes myself, but I haven't had any trouble at all with my banners. I have them on .22-250 and .223 and haven't had any issues whatsoever. Maybe if one was sitting on a heavy kicking magnum, they would fall apart, but I'm happy with my setups.

I bought that scope a few years back from walmart. I was in a pinch for a scope prior to a dog trip. It worked really well. I belive my dad bought one too after mine worked. I also bought the 6-20x40 mil dot bushnell but I'm not near as impressed. I recently moved the 4-12 to my new 7.62x39 AR and it makes for a really handy package. Last time I was at the Bushnell outlet center they had them Refurbed for $40.

bendigo-- Did they have them the silver finish at the refurb shop?? I want to upgrade my HMR to a 4-12x40 & that would be just right I think.

I don't remember. There they are packaged in boxes so you can't tell unless you open them up. Haven't been there in a while to know what they've got. I've been itching to see what they have now since they aquired Simmons.

I had a 4-12XAO store brand ("Shooter's Ridge") that the clerk assured me was made in a Chinese Bushnell factory; it did appear to match up to the lower-end scopes of that brand. Have to say I was surprised be the clarity and low-light performance. Hated to let it go with a rifle I sold. Would buy another if needed a decent low-priced scope. Matter of fact, am looking at the Banner 3-10 that is traj.-compensated for .17HMR.

I have had pretty good luck with the 3-9-40 banner on a muzzleloader, and a .308. 1hole hit it on the head. Winter sucks.

I have had a number of them including that one.

When I want a value or back up scope, it's the one value scope I am most familar with.

They work........

I just got back from the bushnell outlet store. They didn't have any of the refurbs I spoke of earlier. In fact they didn't have any refurbs at all. They now own Millet and Simmons and were selling alot of the lines that they're not going to carry. Prices seemed kinda high compared to Natchez. The only deal they had was a 3-9x32 sportsman in silver for $10.
