I was just wondering of their was a Balistic table that would show the same comparison.
i.e. The 5mm mag with the .17 HMR and .22 mag.

That's a great picture, Eric. I never really knew what the difference was between a 17 HM2 and a 17 Aguila, but this photo really shows the difference. Only thing left out was the old 22 WRF; not too many of those left alive however, even though you can still get the ammo.

I'm considering getting a .17 for my Encore. Other than the obvious diffferences between the 17HMR and 17HM2, what can you tell me about the two rounds and can you offer any recommendations.

I guess it depends on what you intend to use it for.

The HM2 is considerably cheaper to shoot if you don't need the extra range/energy the HMR will provide.
