OK, now were cooking. We can all rave about our 17's. My choice is a CZ 452 Varmint with a Leupold 6.5 x 20 x 40 Long Range scope with a third knob AO. It has to be one of the most fun rifles I have owned. CZ is unbeatable for the money, even after the mandatory $15 trigger spring kit is added. The accuracy on mine is the same at 100 & 200 yards. It even shoots moa at 300 yards, but it barely has the energy to kick up dust by then. Placing a few clay pigeons on the berm at 300 yards, then watching & waiting through the scope for the bullet to impact is just plain old time fun. I wish Leupold made all of their scopes with a 30mm tube. The target is MUCH brighter at all ranges with the larger scope tube. The AO knob is a huge advantage. All you do is focus your target, no matter the distance and your parallax is set. The one drawback is the Long Range 6.5 x 20 only adjusts the parallax when the target is 75 yards or longer.
One question. Is this new section for guns we hunt with? If that's the case, I can delete this. The only varmints around here are pictures on a target. I can tell you that a friend in TX owns a CZ 17hmr. He bought it after he saw the range test on my rifle. He is killing hogs with his rifle, and having a blast. No wonder the 17HMR is the best selling rifle on the market.
Be safe
