I just ordered and hs precision stock for my remington bdl in 7mm rem mag and I was told by a couple people that because the stock is a drop in that I will still need to bed it even though it has an aluminum bedding block? One of the reasons i ordered the stock was to get away from bedding the previous one. What do you guys think?
Thanks

Sometimes the aluminum bedding inserts get warped and aren't square, so they don't fit well. It's not just an HS P problem, it happens with all of the stocks with inserts. It sounds like yours is okay. If it wasn't, it would be a lap job (like lapping in scope rings) to even out the warped spots, and then glassing in, just in case.
Again, it sounds like yours is okay, and it's always better to be lucky than good. Lapping just relieves any built-in stress, so accuracy is more reliable. You may choose, later on, to go ahead and get it bedded. It won't hurt anything, but probably won't help much, either, considering how well yours is shooting now.

About the only rifle I haven't bedded is my HS Precision stocked Sendero. Never felt like it needed it and that rifle will shoot with just about anything.
