Hi Guys.
Having issues with brush's and have several diffrents brands only to find same issue, I'm using a brass brush to start with followed by nylon and thats when i'm finding brass hairs .

Mainly have the issue when cleaning the voere .22lr

Unless the barrel of your Voere is particularly rough/pitted, etc, I'd leave the brushes out of the bore entirely. It has been a very long time since I took a brush to a .22LR to clean it after a regular shooting session. It's just not necessary. Your .22 will shoot more consistently without cleaning as well. I also rarely clean the rimfire .22's. When I do it's with a patch or a bore snake.

It sounds like the brush is of poor quality, or, could the solvent be an amonia based product that is causing premature failure of the brass bristles?

My father did too, and love him as I do, he was wrong. The action and such gets cleaned regularly but I leave the bore alone, or at most, treat it as Red does. What do you get in your barrel that requires a brush to remove?? Certainly not powder residue. (?) ~AMMOe

My 22 almost never get cleaned. It takes too long after cleaning for them to settle down and shoot good again.

I do keep the action and outsides cleaned and oiled.

When I clean my .22, I just use a boresnake. I oil the action, but that's about as far I go. Wipe the blued surfaces down too to cut down on the little specks of rust from finger prints.

I keep the out side of my 10-22s cleaned and oiled. I apply a bore snake some time between 50 and 100 rounds while in the field. After 500 rounds the action is taken apart and cleaned while the barrel is filled with a foaming cleaner. I have a hole at the rear of the action so a 17 Caliber rod can push patches thru from the back. Protect those lands. If you have to clean from the muzzle make a bore guide from an empty 17HMR case. Use an awl or ice pick to punch a hole in the base that will fit your 17 caliber rod. No brushes please.

When I was a kid we used braded fishing line, a piece of cloth, and a fishing sinker to make a bore cleaning tool, kind of a pre-historic bore snake. Three-In-One oil was added to the patch. The first cleaning rod I ever saw just used patches.
