Here are a couple of pics from the last two times on the local golf course, including my favorite club of choice, a Marlin Model 60. She's good for a whole in one, the head, everytime I tee her up within 60 yds. freakedcamo.gif

That's a nice haul. smile.gif

Who do you talk to when you ask permission to hunt on a golf course? There are a couple in my area and I always intend to ask permission to hunt, but never have. I think if I ask the wrong person the result will be a spaz attack ohmy.gif and I'll never get another chance. sad.gif The golfers probably like the groundhogs more than the groundskeepers.

A friend of mine opened the door by going to talk to the head groundskeeper about the possibility of hunting on the course and he seemed agreeable. That was almost a year ago. Then I went and introduced myself and we talked about it for awhile. Now they give me a golf cart to run anound in and free raine of the place. I even lock up if I'm the last one to leave cause they knock off around three.

Now maybe my situation is unique because there are three nine holes courses that comprise the operation. And they usually close one of those courses once a week for maintenance. That's when I have access for hunting. I just roam back and forth from the first to the ninth holes shooting as I go. Some of the courses are more remote than others so I can choose between the 22 and the 204 depending on which course is closed that day.

Of course I am very careful and very aware of my shooting. I don't want anything to jeopardize my good fortune. I even get free golf out of the arrangement. It's a great gig that I hope will last. biggrincamo.gif

I have always said that a golf course was a waste of a good rifle range.

But if they let you "handle" the critter situation that's cool.

I'd do that for the local courses and not need the tee time perk. biggrincamo.gif
