I bought a new stevens 200 in 223 to try it out and I think its a great buy. Here is a pics from the first place I tried for ghogs.

And looked what popped out and got popped with 50gr v-max at about 120yrds.


This one I nailed at about 100 yrds second place I sat. I do not know if it is the faster twist rate of 1 in 9 but I never had a v-max exit at this range.

Yes, they are cool (CHEAP) guns! I really like mine but have retired it to the gun rack recently for lack of funds for ammo. They are UGLY rifles too! I don't know about yours, but mine came with all the raised tooling marks on the stock. I sanded those down and tried to help with the ugliness problems...
