Here's some of my favorite ones, but there are more at the photobucket site, I'm just too lazy to import 'em here. http://s752.photobucket.com/albums/xx167/glennasher/

Saw lots of elk, too far away for good pictures, though. No bears, mountain goats, or bighorns, or wolves, as traffic was nightmarish. All in all, I thought the Grand Tetons NP was a lot nicer than the overused Yellowstone.

Heck, we saw more critters in the Teton Park than we did Yellowstone, anyway. All the moose pics I got were in the Teton Park, and except for the herd of bison who live just north of Old Faithful, got closer to the bison in Tetons, too. All in all, I had a great time. Got a lot more pics than these, but no time to scan 'em in right now. Enjoy! biggrincamo.gif

After getting back, I got to thinking shockedcamo.gif They filmed part of the old movie "Shane"(Alan Ladd, Jack Palance, Van Heflin) in the same valley in the front of the Teton Range, so I went over to Blockbuster and rented it. Sure enough, they filmed part of the movie right in what is now called Antelope Flats (in 1951, it wasn't yet part of the Grand Teton National Park, that happened in 1952)
After careful study, it looks like they filmed it on the Gros Ventre River bottom, where I got those pics of the bull moose(s). Looking closely at the film, you can see the Grand Teton Mountain, in practically every outside shot. The cinematography won an Oscar in 1953, when the movie was released. I guess the Academy liked the scenery almost as much as I did. biggrincamo.gif

The famous Wort Motel in Jackson Hole, has a lot of old photos of the stars when they came in at night to drink and carouse. John Wayne made one of his B movies there, too, but the name escapes me at the moment.

Beautiful country, though, just awesome stuff.

I've been to Yellowstone twice in my life. It's without a doubt the most magnificent place I've ever seen. Living there, being able to absorb the grandeur and diversity, and explore the area is a dream of mine.

That sure is some beautiful country!!

Every time I get out that way I want to sell the truck and steak a claim. biggrincamo.gif
