My options for my setup would be to be:
Up top (north end), with a somewhat limited view of the field because of the shape of the field. I could stay close to the house, and use that woods line for cover, and to see a path down to the opposite side. This is where the coyote usually travels, but I could be in for a suprise if it takes another route in looking for the call.
My other choice would be to go to the bottom (southern end). There is a thin wooded line, and then a steep walled creek behind me. This view I would be able to see up the same line, but almost the entire field would be visible, except the top part. That is about 200 yards north where the hill levels out. However, this would leave me in another weird spot, because to my right there is a large section of woods between the house and the creek in some non-farmable ground.
I see the coyote travelling both north to south, and south to north. So far, that the only path of travel I have seen. Should I wait until I see it, grab my gear and head to the spot it last was so I know where it is not currently and call to bring it back? Or should I setup in a spot and start calling and keep looking around?
All I know is that I need to get this guy! Can anybody pass some words of wisdom on what I should do to get this first coyote?
