Well ... I finally moved back to CA ...Yay!
I'm going to NV for some jack hunting with an old friend, who lives there ... since I must wait 6mo. to get a CA hunter's license. He has an SKS he wants to use. Do you think the report from the 7.62x39 will cause a spook factor during our hunt. When I think about it, we've used 12 gauge shotguns before w/o a problem. What do you guys think?

Mercy, I've always used .22LR, or 20GA on jack rabbits. 7.62x39 is a bit of overkill don't you think?

It'll certainly get the job done!

Well the noise might be an issue but it seems like jacks will sit still when danger shows up and will only move out when you physically press them. I'd shoot the big gun in a heart beat if there were jacks around. A 45 auto is another way to make 'em jump that is not very quiet.
