I swiped this notice from the GoGoVarmintGo board. I know Glen and maybe some others were planning to go next weekend, to the Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky, but the roads are still closed and there's NO electricity. That horrible ice storm has really bollixed up everything in the state.

JUST WANTED TO SAVE SOMEONE THE TRAVEL DOLLARS AND AGGRAVATION.

GA-- We're meeting up & hunting the eastern side instead. We'll be in the Daniel Boone Nat'l Forest at the Pine Mtn State Resort Park. I should be heading out Wednesday around 6PM. biggrincamo.gif

I hope you are OK down there & getting around good. I sure feel bad for those folks. Some of them are internet friends & purdy good fellas too.

My power didn't go out, but across the street, it's still out, since last Wednesday at 0615 or so. I skipped work, so I could shovel out my truck and the attending area. There was 3" snow, 1 1/2" of ice, and another 3" of snow. They do a heckuva job on the roads, we have UPS's International Air Hub located here, and UPS told them they'd pull out if they let the roads go to Hell, like they did in '94. (the state couldn't even find their snowplows, they were buried in a lot someplace, so the whole state shut down for 3 days, UPS wasn't happy) Since UPS has about 10000 jobs here in town (the largest employer here) they do a good job on the roads now.

Back in September, power was out all over town for about 10 days, when remnants of Hurricane Ike came thru, it's been a ROUGH six months for Louisville and Kentucky in general. I blame it all on Barry Sentoro............
