We live in so calif. and are looking for places to shoot squirells and prarie dogs and rock chuck i have a 10 yr old son that loves to shoot and hunt but not to keen on long distance driving. anyone have any suggestions within 500 miles of so calif.???? thanks so cal hunter

No P.D,'s in Nor-Cal. Rock Chucks (Marmots) available in the Sierras. Ca. ground squirrels mostly on private ground, public ground for the most part is over shot. Joining Tejon may be an option. Surprise Valley (N.E. Ca. or eastern Oregon) for Belding G.S.'s is a possiblity but that's over your 500 mile limit. It is not easy to get on private ground. Good Luck
