What componants should I buy to improve this trigger. Too many options to decide and I don't want to break the bank.

Best to buy a hammer, a hammer and sear are a good combo. That will remove most of the issues with the 10/22. But the best bang for the buck is a hammer.

Red I paid less than $100 for a complete drop in trigger unit which is fantastic. See post:

The VQ is usually about 200, if you paid 100 for a complete VQ trigger group, dang, nice find. Unless you mean that it was a factory trigger group with all VQ parts. If so, still a decent price. Always like shooter discount.

For a complete trigger group with all the goodies there are numerous places that do rebuilding, hornet products is supposed to be good. But if you want a complete drop in group, Kidd is the absolute best, but it's a two stage, not great for hunting, the next is Rimfire Technologies, I have one and it's simply amazing, after that is the Volquartsen, still an amazing trigger but they haven't updated their technology in awhile, people are starting to catch up surpass them in quality.
Actually, if you can find one, the Jewell trigger is the best single stage trigger, not produced anymore, but even the best trigger makers say so.

But the #1 overall performance enhancer in a 10/22 trigger is the hammer, after that everything else just cleans up the rest.

Get an adjustable sear and you can get all the creep out of it. On my R/T group I went with the adjustable sear, trigger return kit, adjustable over travel screw, my own little device, target trigger, hammer. I adjusted all the creep out, set the pull weight as high as it would go, adjusted the over travel screw. Now I have a trigger that has ZERO creep, ZERO over travel, and breaks CLEAN at just under 2 pounds, I dropped the trigger, by itself, from waste high, onto carpet, I don't want to scratch it, did not fire, did the same fully installed and the same result.

Thanks for the input.

Juliang, I didn't see your post until after I'd already ordered parts. No matter, I don't think they have that deal any longer, at least I didn't see it listed.

I went with the R/T parts. They can't get here soon enough.
