When the snow is three or four feet deep? I went out today and the snow here is sooo deep I can barely walk through it, where are the coyotes likely to be in these conditions? I was hunting a huge swamp area with wood lots and some cut crop areas. It seems like a really good place although I didnt see any tracks or anything Im just wondering where is my best bet to try when the snow gets this deep. Thanks guys.
Glen
Are there any snowmobile trails? They will travel where it's the easiest to walk. Try the downwind side of fence rows where the snow might not be so deep too. HTH

Thanks Glen, In this piticular area there arent any snowmobile trails but last winter I hunted an area with a lot of snowmobile trails and there was a ton of coyote tracks. I guess if its that hard for me to walk its probobly that hard for them too walk too? I should prob stick to areas where theres trails and signs. This is a few thousand acre area, is it possible that the dogs leave there cuz conditions are too tough, kinda lookin for easier ground? the area is suburban with this huge marsh, wood lot crop area so I would think this is the place where the most coyotes are, its just the snow is sooo frekin deep.
Glen
Watch the game trails too. Anywhere the travel is easiest for them. biggrincamo.gif
