Wish I could have gotten a better picture for you guys. The bottom coon weighted 15 pounds the center weighted in at 32 pounds. He was big. These were taken off my trapline last week.

I used to do a lot of trapping until fur prices nose dived. I used to get about $25 for a large coon and $5 a muskrat unskinned. What kind of money are you getting for your furs if you dont mind me asking? I checked prices not long ago and they were a little better. Oh yea nice job.

Fur is down. Nice coons bring in about eight dallors. Rats around two. Coyotes, well depends on the fur, but ballpark two maybe three if your lucky and your never lucky. If there's a bullet hole in them may as well let them lay cause they won't buy them. I can remember in the 70's I could get eighty bucks for a prime red. Times have changed.

Nice pile of coons!!

We use to coon hunt with dogs in the 80's. Go all night if it was good, sleep all day in school and back at it as soon as it was dark. Good times, and the money was decent.

i decided last spring to get into trapping, not cuz of the suspected high prices but for the fun of it. didn't have a good year with only a possum caught. still had fun and it's a learnig experience. i also heard the coons suffered tremendously from distemper around here...
