I can't speak for your area.
I love my fox-pro and never go calling without it, but I'd suggest going the hand call route for starters. They're cheap compared to the high end e-callers and can be quite effective. The one thing the remote e-callers have over the hand call is that the predator comes in focused on the location where the sound is coming from and not on you. Other than that, the hand calls are just as effective.
