PMI and I were out dogging this past week in between snow flurries and I couldn't help but notice that the local prairiedog population have their winter coats on already. Winter dogging is coming! I love it when they are silhouetted against the snow. Even if there's no snow, the sunlight illuminates the tips of the fur making them infinitely more visible against the local backdrop. Lots of fun but it has it's drawbacks. The Down Side to winter dogging?

:Having to sit in the snow to wait for a shot.

:Trying to make the shot while wearing multiple layers of heavy clothing.

:Trying to keep your trigger finger warm. (And your ears, to a lesser degree of importance)

:Frost bitten toes... but that's only a danger to we hardcore enthusiasts!

Too bad they stick deer season in the middle of all this fun. dry.gif ~AMMOe

Sounds like fun. I've never shot em in cold weather. But then, I can't say I'd enjoy living in a place that has 6 month long winters. I guess in time you get accustomed to it and grow your own winter coat.

Don't forget the pattern of red mist that fans out behind some Pdog. Snow make it show up real well. Plus the barrels stay cooler.
