MY Discovery came today. I am very pleased with the rifle and the work Tim from mac1 did on it.
Fit and finish felt fine. The stock will get refinished this winter but, the blueing was pretty good.
I took ShooterJohn's suggestion and used a piece of weedeater line to pull some patches through and clean the bore,
The tank was at full fill when I opened the box so I didn't have to mess with the Kvalve adapter right away.
The new Centerpoint high rings worked perfectly. The 6.5-20-50mm Barska scope was another story. I could not get the scope to come far enough right to reach the bullseye. I ran out of windage about 3 inches left of the bulseye. I took the scope off and remounted, switched the rings around..still the same. I mounted and zeroed two other scopes I have with no problems. I bought the scope on Ebay and have emailed the seller hoping he does me right.
I mounted my old trusted Simmons Gold Medal 3x12x40mm to get me through until the scope issue gets resolved.
I didnt get pics of the gun, I was too busy filling and shooting from 5pm till 9pm but I did takea few pics of first groups.
The first pic was using JSB Exacts 15.8's at 10 yds, the second and third were using the Discovery pellets (look just like Crosman Premiers), at same yardage.
Filling the gun using the scuba tank was painless as it was my first time using or even holding a pcp rifle.
So far, I love it!

Looks great Ron. Hows that stock it reminded me of my Sheridan when I picked it up for the first time. I got the Center Point mounts too and they arrived today also. I have a couple of scopes sitting next to me itching to get put on. I wish my Bushnell Legends would get here. Since I have three of them coming in the mail. But I have a Nikon Buckmaster 6-18 side focus and a Nikon Monarch 6.5-20 with illuminated reticle I think I'll try on the gun.
Have fun with yours I'm glad to hear you got that tank thing squared away. I hope that 5000psi valve isn't too high to cause a problem. Tank explosions are not fun.

I was told the valave is rated to go that high but can only let through what I let through it. I filled about 5 times tonight, taking about 30 seconds or so to get to 2000 psi. I barely let the gauge needle creep. I feel pretty good about filling now..the first 2 or 3 , I wa a little aprehensive.
I will prob add a spacer to the butstock too but it's fine for now. The stock does remind me of my old Bluestreak. The trigger is the only thing I'm not crazy about. I'm used to my 1 lb. rifle triggers and this is about 2 lbs. per Tim. I'm just waiting to see what the modders come up with. I'll bet someone will make a fully adjustable trigger soon.
I gotta find a cheaper pellet source. I paid 1055 a tin for the JSB's, plus 9.00 and some change for shipping...thats 30 bucks for 500 pellets.
I hope your scopes come in and or you mount one of your spares and get some shooting in. I'm curious as to how you like yours.

Jerry,
Here is a couple pictures I took this morning while letting the truck warm up. Not the best as they were taken with my phone.
Cost on this rifle was pretty good.
Rifle and K valve adapter from Mac1, plus shipping and 3% credit card fee......$353.00
scuba tank...................$85.00

I took some pictures tonight with a real camera instead of my phone.
I also went out and bought a new scope. I picked up a Centerpoint 4-16x 40mm illuminated mil dot scope.
I also shot about 50 shots to get used to the trigger. Todays groups were much better.

The black on the right side of the red dot was the marker spot to aim for, 5 rounds total

That group is getting much better. The gun was louder than I expected it. Especially compared to my Air Arms or FX.

Mine is pretty loud too. I am definately going to get a shroud. Tim suggested a guy named Anthony Storey from Indiana (Finally somebody close to me!), I read Mountain Air makes some great ones too.

I wen't out to a friends woods to hunt this morning. I didn't see any squirrels because his girlfriend was raoring around the woods on my 4 wheeler but I did get to shoot a few Starlings at about 40 yds are so...At least they looked like Starlings
I also set up the table and shot at 50 yds, just to see how it would group. The target I used was one of the Airhog freebies...The dots are about the size of a quarter and I was shooting with light cross wind. I was holding half a mildot over from my 35 yd zero.
Tim from Mac1 said the Disco would hold quarter size groups at 50 yds...he wasn't wrong

Great pics and nice groups.
Where di ya order your ammo from? Prices are going up all over. You might have to sacrifice a slower delivery for a cheaper total price. Midwayusa has some good prices but I don't think they carry Exacts of any weight. I think Amazon's base price is the same as Pyramid, but I don't know what their shipping deals are. If you call Pyramid you might be able to negotiate a price if you order a few tins. We get hammered with the tax and shipping otherwise.

I went to pyramids site and checked prices and shipping...they have best price so far. They did have sales tax on the order I had to do up to get a total estimate...I just checked and found they are in Ohio....didn't know that.

Yea that's the reason for the tax. When you're in the same state you get hit. I'm about 45mins. from them, when I have a big order I just drive up to Bedford. It would be nice if they had a location in Indy or southern Oh.

I drive a Dodge Ram quad cab 4x4 with the 360 engine....shipping and tax cost less than it cost me to drive around the block
I need one of those camo 80 mpg scooters, with a side car for my dog and a rifle scabbard!
I didn't realize there was an airgun place in the state...do they have a walk in showroom/store?
Might be worth a drive up to actually be able to hold a product before I pay for it.

Lol I hear ya there it's bad enough with my S-15 4x4.
No they don't have a storefront. You can oder and walk in to pick it up. They are expecting to have another clearance sale in the spring or summer. They gave some good deals on dented tins of pellets. I got a few blister packs of pellets that way. I paid $19 for a 4pk. of .22 Kodiaks. They were giving away 1:1 canned food for pellet tins also. Hopefully they'll have the same format next tim but with more cashiers.

I think Crosman could have done a much better job with the stock, it almost looks as if they didn't sand it in places. I'm just dying to refinish the stock but, I am having way too much fun to take it aprt right now. I even called Crosman and priced a new stock to refinish and still be able to shoot mine....61 bucks and some change shipped to my door. I might consider that this winter.

Ron, there are already custom stocks out there for these Discovery's. You might want to consider one of those. I want to leave mine pretty much stock so if it gets banged up I don't care.

Ron, Airguns of Arizona offers after market stocks for the Discovery. Both finished and unfinished. Can cost as much or more than the gun did, but are nice looking. See them here.

The AOA stocks are the only ones I have seen so far. I have seen a real nice thumbhole on the GTA Discovery forum but that guy bought a un-inletted stock from Boyds and carved it out himself.
I'm hoping to find a DIY thumbhole somewhere.
I'm also trying to find an aftermarket trigger. I can shoot mine but I am so used to my 1 lb rifles that anything heavier feels like a ton.
The metal on my rifle actually has a pretty good finish and I'm pretty anal about keeping things oiled and pretty. A nicely finished stock, better trigger and a good shroud would just about take care of all my wants.
As popular as these things are getting, I'm betting the tuners will have fully adjustable trigger groups for sale before long.
You and John have also got me looking at Monsoons....(I'm keeping that a secret from the new wife LOL)
My AR-15 varmint rig just might get sold one day to buy one of those.
