I had a couple hours of free time tonight after work, and I planned to shoot my air rifles a bit afterwork
When I got home, the neigbors three horses were grazing in the pasture right behind my target ...I hate when that happens!

So...I used some spare wood and made a 10 yard indoor range in my pole barn.
It worked out not too bad, I have overhead lights over the backstop and my bench. backstop consist of 2 one half inch pieces of plywood and interlocking 2 inch thick walnut boards.
Please excuse the mess, I was trying to get stuff out of the way and get a few rounds in.

I may have to thicken it up when the Discovery .22 gets here but, now I can shoot after dark and when it gets too cold outside.

It's a 36x45 pole barn. I just got it cleaned out, you should have seen the mess we filled it up with when we bought the place this spring. We combined two whole household belongings into one house...the 2 car garage is still filled full of crap, and thats after a huge 3 day garage sale.
I can get almost 20 yards if I build a corner backstop and shoot diagnal...I'm sure that will come as soon as snow gets here.

I have my reloading area set up there too. I hate carrying guns from the house out there to work on them but, four teenagers equals no spare rooms.

If you click on and full size the picture, you can see past my truck the three horses that seem to always be right behind my backstop.

Thanks,
Ron

Now I see how you do it you rotate your things from the barn to the garage and back. anim_rofl2.gif

When you have as much junk as me you learn the cars are never going to see the inside of the garage. The horse stalls are for the overflow. laugh.gif

That certainly is a good idea for the range. Isolating variables like wind for testing is great, and plus, a propane heater in the winter does wonders for cold fingers!

We're in the moving stage now. We have a 4-car garage, two semi trailers and a roll off container filled with tools and furniture and who knows what else at the new property. The bad thing is, you cant tell a difference when you walk in the garage here at home! John and Ron, do you ever think what I do, and say to yourself "how did we get so much S*&^"?

For the past fifteen years, my 10M range has been from the end of the loveseat in my home office down the length of the adjoining "quartermaster's room" to the trap set up on one end of my reloading bench in a big walkin closet. Nothing like the availability of practice to keep the eye and finger in peak form! biggrincamo.gif
