I wanted to put some photos up of some squirrels and maybe a coyote or two from this weekends hunt. I figured the water would be up but didn't count on it being this high, and it was still rising. We got the camper set up in a makeshift spot as the campground was also underwater. It began raining again on Friday night and rained for another 14 hours straight, kinda put a damper on the weekend hunt.

Did you bring a fishing pole?

We had been having a drought until the rain from Gustav came through. I think I went about a month without mowing the lawn. It's still dry, but we got several days of steady rain.

The river is about 1/2 mile from where photo #3 was taken. I understand we now have 50" more inches of rain right now than we had all of last year. It'll be a while before that water goes down, but really, can't complain considering what the people on the gulf coast are going through.

It wasn't that long ago Red that the remnants of something else went through and relocated the river edge. I hope that the water recedes quicker than expected. It's not the Gulf, but flood water is flood water and changes folks normal routines around pretty drastically.
