After four days of relentless drizzle and chilly weather, the sun broke for a few hours, sending th etemps from 50 to 75 in a matter of minutes. Knowing that September has a way of only tossing sunshine my way every so often, I grabbed the GM barreled 96-22M and headed for the dog town.
The dogs appreciated the sunshine too, and stood still while I took seven of them with Remington 33 grain V-Maxes.
I thought I was coming down with the flu but I now realize that it was simply a case of not having shot enough prairiedogs to maintain my mental equilibrium. I'll sleep well tonight...~AMMOe

I'm no doctor but it sounds like you have Seasonal Prairie Dog Affective Disorder (SPDAD).

I think prairie dog fever is very contagious.
Everytime I take new friends out hunting P-dogs, it seems to bring out their inner child. After they get their first few kills, the following kills are always followed by "giddie laughter". This is a phenomenon that effects both young and old. It is triggered by the report of the rifle, followed by a "thump" of the round hitting it's intended target. It is simple math: rifle report + thump = giddie laughter. If there is a mathematician on the forum, please double check this equation to make sure I got it right.........
