Work has kept me busy the last few months. I have not been on line or hunting much. I did get to call late last Thursday afternoon. This female came hard & fast to my C-Bad call. The brush was thick and she was on me before I new it. She saw me about the same time I saw her.........she was putting on the brakes and putting all 4 legs into reverse........I managed to swing around and get her before she got turned & gone...............6.8 Rem SPC w/ 110 grn Hornady HP at 15 yards.........3 power was almost to much....she was close. But it all worked out.. biggrincamo.gif Click to view attachment

how do you like that 6.8 as a predator round? what else have you shot with it?
jj45acp
0 to 300 yds I love it for sure knock down power on coyotes. I have shot several with it. Very little recoil with very big results. It is very accurate also. I have shot a few javalinas with it. I plan on using it on Wyoming antelope this October. It isn't my number 1 coyote gun....but it sure is working it's way up the list.......Click to view attachment

very cool do you handload or do you use factory ammo?

I'm shooting factory Hornady in the 110 HP.......at $28 to $30 a box......that is going to change, changes this weekend, got dies in a couple of days ago. I'm sticking with the Hornady 110 HP bullet...and going to try H322 powder.

Congratulations on getting out and doing it. Is your rifle CA legal and what kind of a group do you shoot at 100 yards? I am interested in getting your same set-up. What scope are you using also. Looks like an awesome set-up. It simply gets the job done and that's what it's about.

I realize this is subjective but....

How would you rate the 6.8 as compared to the 223 for anchoring dogs? I sometimes get runners even after solid hits with the .223 and was wondering about the 6.8 in regards to putting them down more consistantly.

Then what is your number one coyote rifle? I'm leaning towards the 6x47 as my number one coyote rifle. I'm very curious to hear what yours is. Please tell.

Jim T., My number 1 coyote rig is my Kimber in 204 Ruger....or my.....My Winchester Stealth in 223 WSSM is right up there too! Kind of a toss up between those two. I also shoot a Savage Preadtor in 223 Rem, a Remington 700 in 221 Fireball, a Winchester in 6 x 284 Win, a custom Mauser in 25-06 and last but not least a Ruger 77 in 22 Hornet. I would hate to have to choose just one!
That Kimber is pretty sweet, especially with the Hornady 32 V-max at 4225 fps..........it'll shoot in the same hole all day long with the factory ammo... biggrincamo.gif

I also really like the .204 Ruger.

Been studying the 6.8 SPC for some time. Looks like my questions about accuracy and knock-down power for feral hogs have been answered. Thanks!
