I built a set of shooting stix from aluminum arrows and an 8" chunck of 3/8" gas line. Take the gas line to your local archery shop and get the right sized arrows that it fits snug over the shaft. Glue in the threaded insert on each end. Use field points on the bottom. Now take the gas line and cut a half moon in the side at 3-1/4" from each end. I used a 3/4" gasket punch. Then slid the gas line over the end of the arrows. The gas line makes a nice padded cradle and allows you to adjust the stix to any hieght. The field points dig in and keep the stix from sliding. The weigh almost nothing and I carry them slid thru my pants belt loop on my side.

The arrows I got were full lenght that had not been cut. Seems like they are 36-38" long. I had plans of useing another arrow and an all thread rod to extend the height to a standing set. But never got around to it. I figured I would lock tight a short piece of rod in the extensions and have field points in the bottom. So when needed just unscrew the field points of the stix and screw in the extensions in.
