I went across the river into Missouri to scout some new stomping grounds today. I made it through the first couple of flooded spots, the truck needed the mud cleaned off underneath anyway. When I got to the third spot there was no way to get through and turned back for home.

Made it thru here OK

and here

This was on the way home. I've hunted this spot before. looks like about 5-6 feet of water standing there now.

I reckon there's something to be said about a place where you used to hunt...and now you can fish. Feel bad for all the people who's lives have been changed around with all the flooding.
Glen
We went thru that here again a few months ago. It was the 2nd time in 5 years for us. The water had been a lot higher in that 1st pic.
Red
Yeah you can see that the water had been a couple feet higher on that road from the debris left behind. It's dropping slowly.

I almost forgot, there was one area that I saw...it floods a lot anyway, but there were soccer goals with the upper crossbar just barely visible.

From what I know, the Iowans got it much much worse than folks around here. Although if you're one who's flooded here, that's not much consolation.

I'm pretty sure it was in '93 Glen....me and Diane were coming home on leave and Ohio had one of those 100 years floods that they get every couple of years or so. I77 was a swamp with big carp flapping across the roadway and all that bottom crop land was under water. That was down in Guernsey County around Kimbolton and Newcomerstown.....God's country! I know Wills creek is notorious for giving people a bad time throughout that area.
Glen
We just had another flood North of there in 03 Mike. Up at the Bolivar exit. The water there was so high they had to close the driving lane down northbound on I77. The exact same area flooded this past spring again.

It's crazy how fast 'hundred year floods' come around in Ohio hill country. Were heading up there tomorrow morning for a few days. Seeing family in Ravenna and Marblehead and looking to either buy or build in the Coshocton area. Hopefully we got the strength for one more PCS...time for the horses to come back to the barn.

Just holler if you have time on your way thru. biggrincamo.gif I'm along I77 @ the New Philadelphia exit. biggrincamo.gif

Tell ya what Glen....I'm coming back through in August by myself for a little bean muncher and crow shootin' with a couple buddies in the Cleveland area. We did most of our hunting in Medina. I'm mixing up some time with my buddies and some with my family. I'll get your tele before that and maybe we can ventilate a piece of fur together shockedcamo.gif This trip here is gonna be a whirlwind...thanks for the offer and as Red says..."I know where you live" laugh.gif
Glen
Cool deal Mike!! biggrincamo.gif
