Here's 3 more from this AM. The 4th pic is the exit from a 30gr CCI Maxi Mag HP+V @ 55yds. It's a golf ball size hole. It nearly went thru both shoulders broadside.

Hey very cool Glen! Thats about 4x more than I'll get this year and thats just one day! Great shots! Those 30gr Maxi-Mags are truly wicked!

Don't be so hard on yourself Jerry!! You shoulda went down & shot Red's while he was out p-doggin this week!! I'm gonna try those 30's on a couple more just to make sure they are truly that wicked too.

YEP!! I just got that one this past December. I've had the above Marlin HMR since they came out & ammo was scarce as hens teeth. It's hard to leave the 17 @ home when I hunt the rimfire fields.

And there's at least a dozen more in this farmers bean fields.

And the hay is getting mowed late this year too. This could be my best year ever.

My Marlin tube fed is one of my all time favorite rifles Glen. Some of my favorite .22 mag hunting was 'running & gunning' crows. I'd stalk a single bandit all day long until I either run out of daylight or countryside. I'd use the ridges and valleys and whatever else to my advantage. If I could pop up within a 150 yards the litttle feller would be mine and a 'tad longer' on some ocassions It was always a good chase and even fun when they out foxed me. It's a great little shooter. I don't think they hit that hard, it's just a hard bullet better designed for paper. I plan to try them on squirrels though and they shoot good in that rifle.

Gun Show this weekend...I want to scrounge up some RWS Subs to try in the Annie. It's bound to be a better hunting bullet with less chance for ricochet or pass thru. That gun will not shoot the Eley subs.

Size 10 in the footwear and 9 and 3/4 in the hat department. I could swap you a pair of baby skunk booties and a skunk hat. We've had an outbreak of them this year. My neighbor who lives closer to the creek than I do has killed 26 skunks so far this year. The best thing about skunk booties is it covers the foot oder nicely.

Went out the other night and around the corner were two baby skunks looking for grubs in the grass. I got out of the truck to tell the neighbor and their mom came tearing out of the bushes after me! Jumped back into the truck and escaped the stink bomb. Went home and called the neighbor to tell him someone abandon kittens on his front lawn. He called me back and said those weren't kitten and their mother almost got me.

Hey Glen you better start saving some skins I got the makings of your booties tonight. A pair of twins! Unfortunately I made a reverse heart shot on the first one and the pellet blew out its stink gland. Here they are. Sorry for the not so good photo but my wife took it and she said it was hard taking the picture holding her nose.

We had an old fur handler here that would buy our fox. We asked him one time about gwetting the stink off from the skunks & he just said,, "All ya need ta do is skin a couple greasy possums. Then they smell like the skunk. "

2 more shot with the Savage 17HMR & the 17gr CCI TNT's. I'm still not impressed with these bullets. The 1st shot was straight thru the chest from the back side & punched thru. The hog had to expire in it's own good time. The grass was too tall to get another shot off into it. This is the exit wound.


#2 was shot in the quartering away position on the top of it's hole. It knew I was there & wouldn't stand up or give me a decent enough headshot. So I took the what I could as it was getting dark.
