Chuckbuster
It's time for the 08 Ruint contest and I am expanding the parameters this year to include rockchucks as a separate entity.

Woodchucks $25
Rockchucks $25

Good luck everyone and please paticipate! Thank You

Contest starts today and goes to the end of the year.
Chuckbuster
The reason for the change is that rockchucks are thinner skinned and not as robust as a woodchuck.

Are you saying rockchucks are wussies....

I bet their feelings are hurt

flyin lizard
Got one yesterday but it was still in one identifyable unit, but very dead... anim_rofl2.gif
Chuckbuster
Good shooting flying lizard! Post some pics anyway. I can't play yet, still have 2-3 feet of snow to deal with. I am about ready to start shoveling. sad.gif

Well here is the longest shot I have taken on a woodchuck with my .17 Remington Fireball. It was 274 yards. He just fell over dead where he was standing. But he did do the "tail wave of death" anim_rofl2.gif Not very Ruint but the .17 RFB doesn't ever ruint a woodchuck.

Chuckbuster
Excellent shot Drumie!
chuck swatter
well here's my first for 08. definetly not ruint, but a good head shot at 238yds just the same.

ya Drumie, this one wagged its tail too.... cool.gif
Glen
The minimum yardage is 50 yards also. wink.gif
Drumie
I think the next time I go out I will be taking my .308 shooting the Hornady TAP 110 gr. I think that should ruin the woodchuck pretty good. dry.gif

Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentHello all, I've been gone for a while working in the middle east, I got this rockchuck while on R&R last week with my new Remy SPS varmint in .204(34gr win HP). My friend shot the other one with is 22-250(the gut shot one). Not to bad, these were little young ones, we were able to shoot a few before they ran and hid.

Click to view attachmentClick to view attachment...and here are the ones I got the next day at the same spot. about 80-120 yards. I didn't have enough time to start loading for my 204 yet, so I went with some 34gr winchester HP factory loads. Not as explosive as my friends 22-250, but it chunks them out pretty good. Only had a few go down wagging their tails, most just fell over. Just for fun , I threw in a pic of one of my other new toys, Its a bit much to be packing into the field, when I come back in november, I'll set up and try to call in some coyotes Well anywho, thats about it for now, I have to go back to work today. You all take care.
t.s.
I'm trying to enjoy a nice dinner whilst viewing this site and then I see this post.

Dang, Dan!!
Themz iz most certainly RUINT!! cool.gif

Think the AR-50 would make for a good GH gun with APIT.
Take care of yourself in the sand-box!!

Whats a RUINT???
Glen
RUINT= Wrecked. Totally tore up. Unrecognizable. Splattered. Bits & Pieces. laugh.gif

And a few more I'm sure. biggrin.gif
Chuckbuster
DanB's are definitely RUINT, good shootin Dan. The grass in my neck of the woods hasn't greened up yet but I have been out looking. I did get to shoot some critters with my 5mp Sony automatic. AL biggrin.gif

You know, It just ain't fair. Some guys just don't have anything to RUINT this time of the year. It can give a guy PLOM disease.
Drumie
Ok guys i finally got a good Runit with my 17 Remington Fireball. I didn't think i would be able to get a good one with it, so far every one I shot with it left no exit hole. I just figured that the small bullet was just exploding inside them. Well it looks like that is what is happening, unless you are just 62 yards away. Then this is what happens.

I had to take this shot from a kneeling position. It is kinda hard to get the cross hairs focused in when they are this close, but i guess i did a pretty good job.
I just love this little round for woodchucks. No recoil, not very loud and everyone that i have hit with it so far has dropped in its tracks.
AMMOe
I know this ain't a chuck but I had to send it. I ruint this prairiedog with my .222 this afternoon using a Speer "TNT" 50 grain over 22.5 of 3031. IT was 150 yards out and standing up. The bullet caught him in the chest and on leaving, opened him up from shoulder to haunch.~AMMOe

OK, I can't take it anymore. I will not be able to enter the '08 runit contest. BUT I need to share a photo from '07 with you guys. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

This poor guy had a little extra head pressure. anim_rofl2.gif

DanB
Nice work Tigger. That reminds me of a sage rat a friend shot when I was home on R&R. Had the same googly eyes (the rat that is). What were you using?
Tigger
I took this one with an Encore pistol in 218 BEE. Load was a 40gr home-made bullet from a friend. He gat a swedge and wanted me to try some of his bullets for accuracy and performance. kind of neat to see the rimfire stamp on the bottom of the bullet. As you can see the bullet entered the jaw on a slight upward angle and never exited the chuck. Distance was 47 yards with a 40gr bullet leaving the muzzle at about 2,500 FPS.
chuck swatter
unsurecamo.gif well i'm still out there but I just dont have any picture worthy "ruints" yet this year.
still trying though.Soon maybe.........

Hi Jerry, how are you doing? I am using a 22-250 Wackley improved with 64gn Berger MEF's.
MikeNC
That's everything but cooked right there blink.gif biggrin.gif
Glen
Not much of an entry after seeing an excavator lit up by the Wackley but I'm gonna post my best to date anyway. Just a little groundhog at 125yds with the Ol ot4 Ruger & a 39gr BK. biggrincamo.gif

MikeNC
'Bout the size of a chipmunk Glen laugh.gif , might make for soup stock tongue.gif

I have a picture of an excavator boom stuck thru the bottom of a bridge, can't find it right now. It's a little off topic anyway, but it did ruint. contentcamo.gif
