Full Version: How quiet is the AA 410ERBSL in a hunting situation? This quiet!

People are always asking me how quiet a certain gun is. Here's a demonstration of the AA 410ERBSL's quietness. This squirrel is 48 yards away. The camera is mounted on the scope about 20 inches from the muzzle, and it has a very sensitive built in microphone. I'm sure out where the squirrels are they just hear a slight "tink" when the gun fires, and I'm also pretty sure they don't hear the pellet at all as it goes in one ear and out the other, so to speak. ohmy.gif laugh.gif cool.gif

Great video, Rldgcntr!

The first PCP airgun I ever saw after I got my Condor was a shrouded .22 AirArms400 and I was amazed at how quiet it was shooting. It was very accurate, and was said to have a nutria under it's belt so it had the hunting power!

I went on an airgun hunt in Oklahoma last Oct with 6 other airgunners to hunt wild hogs. One of the guys at the hunt had brought the most powerful bigbore airgun I have seen; a .457 that made up to 600fpe and shot pellets of up to 500 grains. He really wanted to kill a pig with it. Problem was that the muzzle flip was tremendous, and would about throw the rifle up over your shoulder if you weren't careful. I shot that monster a couple of times, and it definitely didn't feel like you were shooting an air rifle!).
There was only one guy that was at the hunt that could manage to shoot good groups despite the recoil, and it wasn't the guy who brought the rifle. So he went with his back-up; his trusty .22 AA400 squirrel rifle, which he has used to video the shooting of hundreds of squirrels. He won the "smallest pig taken" award on this hunt, using the AirArms on a tiny hog that was between the size of a squirrel and a rabbit (LOL)!
I think there is a link on here to his squirrel video post somewhere.

After I figure out which two slugs I want to shoot in my .25 (one being for smallgame/plinking and around 37grains, the other about 53grains for anything from 20-100lbs) I am going to send my Condor off to have a custom shroud installed on it. I'll take some video and compare it to what it sounds like in the same shooting conditions when it comes back, and post it here.
