I am now wishing I would have signed up for the contest this year?? First stand today was a glimpse of a dog scooting over the hill. Second stand was the berries.... Set up just over the ridge looking down in to the valley. My buddy was sitting in the fence row with a good shooting lane. I was out in the field nestled in the grass. After calling for about 15 minutes a large boom from his .243 and I jumped on the puppy whine. When I finished I looked back and got the thumbs up!!

He told me three coyotes came in the first startled him it was so close and the second was 10 yard to his left and when he moved it startled the coyote but the third was not so lucky.

Good ending to the morning!!

Not going to get much for that hide. What kind of bullet was he using. With a .243 and that close you would think it would be a small hole in and out. Oh well another bit the dust that's what count's

He was using a standard off the shelf 100 gr soft point from Winchester. He didn't want to spend the extra money for varmit loads.....but I think he understands now!! I was hoping he would have shot it in the shoulder to see how much damage it would have done??
