Snipin_Varmints, you will get to take it for a spin here soon!
It will certainly be poppin' the pigeons, but what I look forward to doing with it the most will be "Nukin' Nutria"!

That is a sharp looking rifle, sort of futureistic, but why are those critters still alive in that picture?

I've never shot a Nutria before. They look like muskrats maybe bigger. If we had those in California the condors could eat them.

Only because they are in the canal just off West 11th in the city limits, and I am a law-abiding citizen. It is down-right un-natural of me to just pass them up, but that is what I have to do.

It's time to hit the city up for an Animal Damage Control permit then.

That rig outta do the trick cleanly & quietly on them.

trappers got all the rights. Safer too. There's a large hotel off a busy street, and also a gas station/several small businesses all within about 50 yards of this particular nutria.
Many of those same animals were sitting in traps when I rode by the same spot two weeks after those pics were taken. They run across the bike path all the time and are a hazard. I almost ran over one at night downtown in a parking lot a good distance from a small canal area.
The intent of this .25 is to be tailor-made for this particular, year around, no bag limit invasive animal that weigh up to 20+lbs.

I'll never forget the first time I saw one of those. I thought it was a huge rat. It was several years later before I found out what it really was. Mean while I had told everyone abou this huge rat I had seen.LOL

Someone tried to introduce them to California once for their fur. But California wiped them all out from what I can find. My brother has them in Florida by the thousands. Might be time for a visit. Good luck on bagging some.

Some say they are largely responsible for the flooding from hurricane Katrina being as bad as it was. They eat the base/roots of the vegetation and tear up the topsoil.

Hey Butcher and Snipin_V I had a great time Sunday. That airrifle sure isn't a BB gun is it. That was fun to shoot. So was Snipin's .17 what a tack driver! But of course shooting my new .44mag SBH Hunter was the best.

Great time we'll get together again soon and kill something other then paper. rupe

Right on! I'm going to get out today and prepare for them by labeling my A/O every five yards, and then see if the settings prove to be repeatable.
