I keep hearing stories of hogs in Oregon but no one seems to know where to find them. Fish and Game treat them as "shoot on sight" varmints. They don't want them here. Does anyone know where to hunt these in Oregon? Public property would of course be the best and Central Oregon would be even greater. So if you know anything give me a shout. Thanks you, Rupedog

Have you tried the F&G Dept? If they say they are there & don't want them then they should be a good source for the info.

They weren't to helpful.

I'm wondering if they aren't just making sure they get shot just in case. Here in Ohio they are more helpful. Maybe because we have so much agriculture here. Seems if they want them shot on sight they would be more helpful. I dunno.

Maybe I just caught her on a bad day. Who knows. They have it listed in the hunting regs for the last 3 or 4 years, but all I ever hear is stories. I heard bubba's cousins sisters brothers uncles, wifes, ex. boy friends, dad shot one over in southern Oregon north of cratchetts farm. Well heck, I'm going to just run on down there and shoot me one. LOL

i live in central oregon, and a local rancher let some go about 10 years ago and fish and game got the helicopter to remove them, i know there is pigs and feral sheep around spray along the john day river. also heard of a "high fence operation" near spray that had exotic buffalo and when fish and game told them it was illegal to have hunts, he dropped all his fences. i know several people who swear up and down that they have seen these buffalo. but i don't know for sure because i have never laid my eyes on them. also heard of pigs in the crooked river ranch area. hope this helps, edward

Thanks, what I'm finding is there are small pockets in several area's of the state, but there aren't enough to hunt. Unless you are hunting something else and you stumble across one. I think that Fish and Game is just wanting hunters to shoot on sight to keep them from populating. I would like to have them populate, just gives us one more thing to hunt.

Beleive it.
I am fixin' to invest in some feeders and pig-pipes, and know of a guy that has property in the same region these hogs were killed.
This guy in Oregon that has had success hunting wild hogs in Oregon. It took some hard work, but he did it. Pretty impressive accomplishment.
Hey Rupedog; now it's OUR turn!

I have found them in the Klamath River canyon and have shot two of them. However I have not seen them down there in over 15 years though. There are still some wild horses in the area, but no hogs from what I have seen.

Ok, well a buddy hot a hog in the canyon earlier today. I haven't seen them down that way in a long time, but he came across around 10 or so this morning. There was a nice sized boar dropped with his .204. He dropped him off at the butcher shop a little while ago.

Look like you found yourself a honey hole. That's going to pack your freezer full.
Looking forward in seeing the pictures. Is this private land or public land? Not asking where it is just wondering. Don't want to take you hogs out from under you. Of course it wouldn't matter the way I shoot. LOL just kidding I have never missed the side of a barn.
