This years ground squirrel season is about to start, so I thought I would share a clip from last spring and one of the tricks I use a lot to get the squirrels to stop and look up, giving me the shot that I want. Lip squeaks. cool.gif

Here's a pic. of the rig that I shot the above video with. The rats on the stump were grabbing a break in between shoots. anim_rofl2.gif anim_rofl2.gif anim_rofl2.gif

Nice! I've got the same binoculars the older Leica 1200 in camo and the same shooting stick setup. I just need that gun! laugh.gif How do you like that new Leica rangefinder Cliff? I've been thinking of replacing mine since I've almost lost it on two separate occasions due to sitting it down and walking off because I don't notice it. The New version seems so much smaller and much more ergonomic. Cliff do you like that gun best because it a semi auto?

This gun looks from a distance just like the FX Monsoon, which is semi-auto, but this is the FX Whisper, which is the bolt action version. It takes the Monsoon 12 round mags. I also have the Monsoon, but the digicam stops recording when the action cycles, so I've got video right up to the shot, and right after, but not of the shot. Not to useful. huh.gif I have a new camera mounting system, so I'm going to try the camera on the Monsoon again and see what happens. I would really like to use the Monsoon, especially in the prairie dog towns this summer, but I need to be able to record my shots.

I really like the Leica Rangemaster 1200. It's very compact, and easy to use one handed. That's one of the things that I like about the binos too. Pretty much everything I use has to be operable with my left hand. I'm busy holding the gun with my right. The digicam I use, once mounted on the gun, is also very easy to use with my left hand. cool.gif
