Full Version: What happened to the Talon Owners Group?
The Varminter Forums > The Varminter Forums > The Airgun Forum
Eric Mayer
Looks like the new owner shut it down?

Anybody got any details?

After the original creator of the site turned it over to someone else, things seem to fall apart pretty quickly. There seemed to be too much squabbling over the smallest things going on. Then a group took off created another Talon area all together and that seemed to be the end. The last thing I saw was someone had done something that the administrator really disliked...

That doesn't work. If you have the link to the new site, I'd be interested.

Thanks!

Try Here. http://talonairgun.com/forum/ smile.gif Hmmm. Very strange. I just used that link yesterday and it worked fine, now it doesn't. Back to the drawing board.

Eric, try contacting these guys at Talon Tunes. http://www.talontunes.com/ The link to forum from their site isn't working either, but maybe they can get it figured out.

Just tried the link again, it was real slow, but it did load. Hope it comes up for you.

Welcome Back Cliff!! Hope all is well!!

Hi Glen. Had a bit of a medical adventure that started last September and went on for a few months. By the time the Docs got it all sorted out winter had set in here in the mountains of Arizona. I did find time to buy a couple new airguns, but haven't shot either one of them much. Looking forward to spring and getting in some trigger time.

I've spent the winter editing a varmint hunting video I'll have out around June about hunting California ground squirrels with modern airguns. It looks like the finished video will have about 275 or so video clips of squirrels playing catch with pellets. Most clips are shown in real time as well as slow motion. Lots of other stuff in it too. It's been a fun and interesting project. At this point it's about 90% done.

Anyway, I happened to see Eric's post about the Talon Forum. The original one imploded, but some of the guys on there started a new one at the link I posted.
Glen
Everything is fine now tho right?? biggrin.gif I sure hope so. Take it easy & get rested for those long spring & summer hunts now!! cool.gif

Can't wait to see the video too. Should be cool.gif !!

BTW-- It's good to have you back. wink.gif

Thanks, I had a severe case of acute pancreatitis. Screwed up my liver for a while, but it's all good now.

Here's some cheap entertainment for you on a cold winters day. Go to the end of the clips, #57, and work back. You've probably seen the ones from the beginning. Don't giggle and scratch too much. Who said airguns are toys? Enjoy. Oh yeah, make sure the audio is turned up or you'll miss some of the best part. Number 53 is especially lovely. laugh.gif Watch closely on #57, and you can see the pellet in flight just before it knocks his dork in the dirt. cool.gif

VarmintAir
Hi Jon, nice gun man. You will have a blast with that beauty. The tree rats are REALLY in the deep poop now. cool.gif

I do believe Eric's Talon thread has done been HIJACKED! I think it's ok though, as long as we're talking about killing stuff. anim_rofl2.gif

Thanks Jerry. Hopefully this year is a little more settled than last, and I'll have a chance to get out and do a bit of exploring around here.

Hey Cliff!!
Good to have ya back in here biggrin.gif
Put the Skypilot down for one of the videos when they are ready. After viewing some of the ones you posted (and a few you didn't) it should be a hoot.
Glad the medical situation has been taken care of!!

Thanks BoB. I'll drop you a PM when it's finished to get an address as to where to send it. I've got clips of these furballs catching pellets all the way out to almost 100 yards. In the process of editing the footage, I've probably seen the rough 200 times, and I still laugh, scratch, and snort each time I run through it. There are some pretty cool clips where the sun was at just the right angle, and you can actually see the pellets dropping in on the rats like a cruise missile headed for Saddam's outhouse. laugh.gif

It's amazing, even at 80 and 90 yards, to see the amount of dirt that the pellet impact blows off these suckers. cool.gif Fun Stuff. I'm going to start filming here again pretty soon. I can hardly wait. tongue.gif
