It is cold, and that's where the malfunction came in. Because I'd neglected to clean the magnum and the cold temps caused two problems. On my first attempt to shoot the round did not fire due to a slow firing pin and a cold viscous lubricant. 2nd, upon attempting to eject that round it would not come out of the chamber and now there is a second round coming out of the magazine trying to fill a chamber that already has a round in it and I can't get the magazine out with my gloves on....all this while the coyote is circling and popping in and out of the heavy cover. Eventually removed one glove, locked the bolt open and got the magazine and the second round out. That's when I had another opportunity for a shot. I was hoping that same round would fire on a second try, it did. Got kinda hairy there for a minute though Sometimes you just get lucky.

and another really loooong set. This one was very cautious about coming in. He came from the east, circled south and then re-traced his steps and eventually came in from the north. He took about 4 minutes to finally commit. Worked for me as it provided the time to fiddle with the rifle.

Nice shooting, And proof that the 22Mag has what it takes, for closer shots, My favorites rifles for the yotes are the 22Mag, 5mm Rem and .222Rem, Most of my shots have been within 125Yards, here in the southern Nevada desert,
