Hey all, how has the new year been treating everyone. Seems to be tough and slim pickins on the west desert coyotes this time of year. Lets here some success stories not only from utah hunters but from all predator hunters. Include gun used, ammo, calls, stand time and pics if you got em.

tons of coyotes in the Uintah Basin where I live. I use a Savage .204 ruger and a Foxpro FX3 with a jack-in-the-box.

I called one in out on the west desert Tuesday, It was my first coyotecalled in and guess what??? I got the fever and pulled and missed high and that was all I saw. I have made about 10 stands in total and the was the first dog that has come in. I have seen other dogs, but just way, way out and they dont seem to like any sounds I am making. I am using the Primos Little dog, KiYi and a primos jack and primos howler. The one on Tueday was called in using the lil dog and a challenge howl. I have elk hunted up by flamming gorge alot and I know there are tons of yotes up there and also over by the ice cave peak area up above tridell and lapoint.

I still cant believe I missed. Damn the fever. Oh well ill get em next time!!!

Went out last thursday and it was a dry day. Not one yote called in. I really need to get furhter away from the West Desert!!! Only good thing was I did not see one other rig all day. THATS A FIRST out there. Id really like to see what the Sierra 60gr HP will do!!! I guess Ill just be patient until I get some time to get further away from salt lake suburbia
