I have seen a few of these plastic coyote decoys in magazines, I saw one on my local hunting shop yesterday. Has anyone tried a coyote decoy? It seems like more stuff to carry but if it gets 'em out of the thick stuff I'd give it a go. I wanted to stake out my little boxer as a decoy but...... her indoors was pretty much against that. She gave me a green light on the new Beretta shotgun though so.....

I'm waiting for the inflatable model, much easier to carry.
Whoa! There's a million dollar idea.

I wonder if they have those downtown at the X-Rated store?

I've never tried it, been tempted to though.
Like you say, too much to lug around all the time but I'd be curious to see what the reaction might be.

I haven't used them myself, but my uncle let's a guy hunt on his property that uses a coyote decoy all the time and it seems to work for him.. I guess he will do a howl and they just come. I have seen Randy Anderson use them as well. I seen a coyote decoy in the sportsman guide for I belive $35.

Gander Mountain has a full size, 3D coyote decoy with movable legs, and a furry like tail for 100 bucks. You can put it in a standing or sitting position. I'm sure it would get their attention, but so does a jack int he box.

Forget it. I can't see dragging around a plastic decoy....not with all the other stuff I have to carry. Get a little lightweight rabbit for around $15 bucks if you feel the need to have a decoy. There comes a point that you just have to call a halt to the junk you want to carry, otherwise it gets to be work. Hunting should be fun....not drudgery.
