I must be missing something here. That looks like a Marlin lever action leaned up against the hog in the second picture, and I know they never chambered those in 25-06, but the thread title lists 25-06. Are you sure it wasn't something more like 30-30?

His son shot the hog with a browning 25-06...not in the picture. He must have laid his Marlin down on the hog while taking pics...........But that would have been one hell of a shot with a open sight, lever 44 mag..... .

That's right it's a Marlin 44 mag, My so didn't want HIS 25-06 RIFLE to get dirt.
