I now make ink pens on a lathe.

The style I have chosen is Birdseye Maple with a double roll center ring & a rifle clip all in gold. I can make several styles & sizes but,, this style will only be available thru Varminter.com I will not sell these anywhere else so you all will have a one of a kind pen for your desk or checkbook. Each pen will vary slightly as I do not use a duplicator. I free hand every one. Your's truly is custom. These pens write very nicely. They are Cross pens which are very good writing instruments. You can pick up a Cross type refill for about $3.50 at most office supply stores & keep writing. The shine can be brought back by using a paste wax & hand buffing. And I am here if you have any problems whatsoever with your pen. The bank my wife works at has been using these pens for 3 months now & they all like them very much.

So here's the deal. I will ship & insure a pen to your door for $17. I will then put $5 from each Varminter.com pen sale into the RSCAR 4 KIDS Fund. So not only do you get a quality writing instrument but you are also helping to support a very good thing that I would like to see continue for a very long time.

Otis,, I got your check, Rocky,& Jerry-- They will go out tomorrow. Sorry they didn't go sooner as promised but they are on the way tomorrow.

Red-- I will have one for Dean for the R4K drawing. Ross' will be sent out with Rocky's but I have to make one for Dean. I'm practicing with a lettering idea on these & they will have R4K '07 on them. Next year I will go with the "2008" center band.

grywhythunter-- I still have yours & I will get one for Cody too. I need your address & if you sent it to me I didn't see/get it for some reason. If you didn't send it to me then I'll just have to go over your head to the Boss here & get it!!

I'm glad you like the pen too!! I've gotten very nice reviews on them & I'm beginning to think maybe they are purdy nice. Wait til you start writing with it. Cross pens are definitely high quality.

I just finished a tiger maple pen & letter opener set for Diane's co-worker that should go over real well when I deliver it.

My sons FIL recently got into this hobby also, and does great work also.

He made a Pen-Pencil set for my wife, who manages a large medical group in Las Vegas. He had the medical emblems on each item, and they looked great. So great infact, that someone came into her office and stole them both! Probably a "cheap doc"!! She's hoping he'll make another set, and she wont take them to work.

any chance if getting on made from cocobolo? I bought a knife with cocobolo handles to match my BBQ gun.
a pen of the same would be sooooo nice.




Let me know, and one more thing, does the pen take a common refill? 99% of my usage takes a medium point.

geneinnc-- I am very sorry!! I have no idea how I missed this request!! I will look to see if I have any cocobolo left & if I do I will get you one spun up real quick if you're still interested!! Lemme know OK. These pens use Cross type refills. They are $3.50 at my local Staples & come in blue/black and the medium/fine points. At this time there is another refill for Cross pens that are cheaper. They are 2/$6 here but I haven't had the opportunity to use them or get any feedback from the few people that are using them. I'll know more later.


In the meantime I have 2 pens left that will make nice gifts. These are laminates with a sleek ball clip. I think they make nice gifts for the Women in our lives. The LEFT PEN ONLY is still available for $20 S&I.

Glenn, I got all of the pens. Top notch work. The cocobolo matches perfectly. The rosewood was different than I expected, kind of a reddish mahogany look. The laminates are great, and will last a lifetime since there is no shrink or swell. I got the Olivewood on a chance. I got my wife a wooden bound Bible made in Bethlehem, from olivewood, and they match great. The black hardware set pen off.

If you guys want something special, you will not beat these pens. The Cross medium point refill is by far the best all around tool for your desk.

Hi Gene. Thanks for the kind words!! I am glad things worked out for you the way they did. All I had to go by on the coco pen were the 2 pictures you posted & I was hoping the inside of that coco blank would yield what you were looking for. There was some luck involved there too.

I do my very best to make every pen the same in a fit & finish sense. They may not all be the same design but thats part of the "uniqueness" of each pen. I have been asked to use a duplicator to make the same design over & over & to speed things up but I don't want to do it that way.

I free hand every pen & I also guarantee every pen.

Plus you can trust that these are & will forever be pens that were "MADE IN THE USA"!!!!

as you know Glen, I got mine too. It's a really nice Afzilla Snakeskin model. Dad likes it and it's the perfect gift for somebody that is just darned hard to buy for.

Ohio is purdy close to the USA you know. Actually I think the USA surrounds us at times. At least it feels that way.

You need to make one up with the same dimensions as a Mount Blonc Pen. Those of you with large hands would love it. The LeGrand is the most popular. you could make a mens or ladies pen. I can get you the dimensions on the mens model. The weight has a lot to do with the feel of there pen. I can get you dimensions if you wish. You could really make a killer pen with any of the dark exotic woods. you might want to add a higher gloss finish on it. If you want to try one, I'll take it. Let me know and I'll send you the specs

Hi Gene. I'm looking into the new mandrel to make those. Those types of pens can add as much as $6 to the price of a pen tho. But I'm always looking for good quality pens at a decent price. I have a few ideas in the works also for different things. Some really neat stuff. It all takes time but I'm learning!!

I made the Amboyna & the one Buckeye pen larger in case a fella did want them. The Olivewood has a nub on the bottom for those of us that tend to push down when we write. Keeps the pen from going clear thru the fingers!!

Here we go again!! These are Red White & Blue with rifle clips. There are 5 of them with a double roll center band. These are engraved with "FREEDOM ISN'T FREE" & inlayed with Queens Gold. I left them a little bigger to show off the Colors!! $25 gets one of these to your door S&I. They will arrive in a blue suede pouch & a plastic case that can be used for a display if you wish to do that. Remove the pen from the pouch. Slide the pouch back into the case & put the pen back in. The blue makes a nice background. If the Wife or Girlfriend can't find something nice for you for Varminters Valentines Day just tell her you want a FREEDOM pen!!
