My original Synthetic stock has weakened enough that it is now pushing against the barrel. You can't even start a crisp new bill under the barrel. Needless to say this has turned my tackdriver into a 2.5" 100 yard rifle.
My gun was bought in the early 90's. I have been told those stocks were more "plastic" than synthetic. It has the pre 64 controlled feed, with a few modifications (according to Winchester)
I would love to find a drop in stock that has been metal bedded. I'm not very picky on the finish. This gun was purchased to be an all weather hunting machine. Camo finish would be fine, or even a tactical look. A small benchrest stock would also work. When I get to hunt, it's usually on a shooting house, with a good solid, flat rest.
I am totally lost in the replacement stock market. It would really be nice to get some input from those of you that have experience in the replacement stock business
