I bought my daughter a Powerline 1000s made by Daisey and I cant believe how inaccuratate it is.Do they need a break-in period to settle in, or did I bur her a junk gun. I cant get a 20 yd pattern tighter than 6 inches. And that is with the 3-9x32 scope that came with it.

Yotie_Hunter,
I had one of those rifles and it was not great.
Went out and bought a Gamo and am very happy with it. Still wish I had my old Sheridan 5mm, Best pellet rifle I ever shot.
Good luck.

I have only very limited experience with pellet rifle....spring piston ones that is. Two things I know -

1. Not all pellets are created equal. Good pellets can make even a halfassed pellet rifle shoot very well.

2. Keeping a scope, especially the cheap crappy scopes and mounts that come on packaged guns sighted in can be a real test. A spring piston gun is extremely hard on scopes...much more so than a center fire rifle. Double acting recoil.

So try different pellets, check your scope and mounting....I'm betting your scope is shifting thru the rings or the mount is slipping back on the dovetail rails of the gun.

I bought a 'refurbished' Gamo 220 from Cabelas. Once I got the scope and mounts problems resolved it will 'headshot' a squirrel across my backyard. In the beginning I had to correct the scope and tighten it down every third shot.

......Some of these air rifles of today are incredable, but like you...I loved my Sheridan and still have it wink.gif I bought that gun new off the shelf at a place called "Uncle Bill's" up in Cleveland Ohio many decades ago for $19.95 biggrincamo.gif It's a little rough around the edges, but still a shooter.

Hey MikeNC
Did your rifle have the way cool safety that you had to hold down to fire.
I always thought that was the best I'd ever seen.
Mine was a 5mm and it knocked the stuffing out of squirrels and cotton tails.
Sure miss that rifle.

Not on mine longboard. I do not recall seeing one like that. Mine simply has the two tabs on either side of the bolt. Depress one for fire or the other for safe. That 5mm sent a shock wave screamcamo.gif to whatever it hit. Squirrels, rabbits and crows became fair game after years of being restriced to knocking spotsies, starlings and the like with the old daisy model 25 pump cool.gif
